Second United Nations Global Sustainable Transport Conference

According to the organizers, the second United Nations Global Sustainable Transport Conference will take place from 14 to 16 October 2021 in Beijing, China. The Conference is organized by the United Nations and jointly organized by the Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China and the Beijing Municipal People's Government.

The theme of the Conference will be “Sustainable Transport, Sustainable Development.” It will focus attention on nine topics, including sustainable transportation, poverty reduction and poverty alleviation, people's livelihood, international connectivity and cooperation, green development, regional development, innovative development, safe development, sustainable cities, and government governance. At the same time, it will increase the important role of ensuring unimpeded international transport in promoting global economic recovery.


The Conference will feature opening and closing ceremonies, three plenary sessions, a Ministers’ Forum, a Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for Sustainable Transport, a Forum on the Role of Business in Advancing Sustainable Transport, as well as six thematic sessions.
